stop it stop it stop it stop it now

stop killing my neighbors' children
stop maiming my neighbors' kids

stop killing
and torturing
and terrorizing asians

stop making the world despise america

stop the wars in iraq and afghanistan
now
bring the troops safe home
now

asians aren't behaving
the way they should
again

maryland and ohio
knows how asians should behave

bomb the crap out of them
until they behave
torture them
hang them
until they behave
shock and awe them
until they behave

kill 'em all

let god sort 'em out

bring them back alive
bring the boys back
bring the girls back
bring them back alive
why don't you turn the ships around
lay your weapons down

bring the boys home
bring the girls home

bring my neighbors' children home

safe
now

end our violence in asia
send diplomats
send teachers
send nurses, send doctors
send agronomists

send civil engineers

stop killing and maiming asians

if you would help:

help asians live

and choose how they want to live

if bombs and artillery
and assault weapons
predator drones and cruise missiles
are the only way we know
how to make asians behave

stop it

lyrics in black adapted from

Bring the Boys Home

Composed by Angelo Bond / General Johnson / Greg Perry
performed by Freda Payne (1971)

Fathers are pleading
lovers are all alone
Mothers are praying --
send our sons back home
You marched them away --
yes, you did --
on ships and planes
To the senseless war
facing death in vain

Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Turn the ships around
lay your weapons down

Can’t you see ‘em march across the sky
all the soldiers that have died
Tryin’ to get home --
can’t you see them tryin’ to get home?
Tryin’ to get home ---
they’re tryin’ to get home
Cease all fire on the battlefield
Enough men have already been wounded or killed

Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Turn the ships around
lay your weapons down

Oooh, oooh …
Tryin’ to get home --
can’t you see them tryin’ to get home?
Oooh, oooh …
Tryin’ to get home --
they’re tryin’ to get home

Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)
Bring the boys home
(bring ‘em back alive)

What they doing over there, now
(bring ‘em back alive)
When we need them over here, now
(bring ‘em back alive)
What they doing over there, now
(bring ‘em back alive)
When we need them over here, now
(bring ‘em back alive)

Song Trivia: Vietnam protest song “Brng the Boys Home” was banned by the US Command from the American Forces Radio Network for fear that it would “give aid and comfort to the enemy.”

It's a song that should be played more on oldies stations since our nation is still fighting the war in Iraq.

I just heard this song yesterday morning. I sat in the bank parking lot crying for the needless and senseless loss of life from Vietnam on. Vietnam should have been a powerful lesson--yet this war continues on. Radio stations should play this song over and over-maybe then the message will get through. My father served in Vietnam and my two sons have returned home safely from Iraq. Our family is one of the lucky ones.

- Barb, Butler, PA

I've just discovered this song via the peace march video on Youtube and I'm glad I have. Songs like this are crucial. Sad to say lessons never get learnt.

- Vivien, Sheffield, England

I loved this song. I remember it play over the airways when my oldest brother was off in the vietnam war, now my son is off in Iraq and this same song ring in my ear. They should start playing it again on the radio stations.

Created in the 70's as a war horror awareness song! 30 years later, we still haven't learned a thing! Still fighting another countries civil war...

I listened to this song during the 70's when I was very young on a 45 record. This brings back so many memories. Thanks for posting the song......unfortunately, it's so fitting in this day and time.

My father will always play this song when I was growing up. With my love for music I remember learning the words to this song when I was only 9 years, but I never came to the real understanding and significant of this song until now. My father is sleeping in his grave but I am so thanking to me for warning me of these last and evil days we are living in. BRING OUR BOYS AND GIRLS HOME! This song is so powerful!!!
