Here Comes the Sun
by George Harrison

Here comes the Sun
Here comes the Sun
and I say it's all right

Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the Sun
Here comes the Sun
and I say it's all right

Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the Sun
Here comes the Sun
and I say it's all right

Sun Sun Sun, here it comes
Sun Sun Sun, here it comes

Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the Sun
Here comes the Sun
and I say it's all right

==========

After tomorrow, the Sun will shine in the Northern Hemisphere longer than it shone the day before, and this will continue for 3 months, until the Summer Solstice, the Longest Day of the Year.

Wikipedia says the Beatles were forced to spend every winter day in a London board room doing the bidding of dozens of lawyers amd accountants. Harrison was particularly dispirited and morose.

Suddenly Spring arrived, and he fled to Eric Clapton's house and wrote the song with Clapton's help on the harmonies. When the Beatles next recorded, Lennon couldn't make the session and so isn't on the song.

Let me know what you think of this surprising version -- and of Spring and the Sun in general.

Love and Warmth to all of us,

During January 1969 the Beatles tried to record a new album in a studio in Twickenham, London. They were also filmed during this process, the result can be seen in the Let It Be movie and subsequently heard on Abbey Road and Let It Be (and on tons of Bootlegs as well). These recordings (known as Get Back Sessions) turned out to be a complete disaster, you can literally hear a band falling apart. Harrison, who had temporarily left the band during these sessions, later claimed that it was horrible to perform in a dark, cold studio while being filmed all the time and called this period the winter of discontent. Here Comes The Sun was his reaction to being out of this mess and is probably one of his most covered songs. And one of the most beautiful, too ! Nina Simone is not my pint of lager, but she is a legend in herself and doing a fine job I reckon
Love and warmth to all of us indeed
